Sword have continually sought to provide our staff with the very best training nationally and internationally here is a summary of some of the training courses and accreditation we currently hold,

Sword Event Guard are accredited with the Further Education Training and Awards Council (FETAC). FETAC, are responsible for setting the quality standards for training companies/courses which aspire to national accreditation in Ireland, at sub third level . FETAC have agreed a quality assurance standard with Sword Event Guard. This enables Sword Event Guard run FETAC accredited courses and develop their own FETAC accredited courses. That is, courses that fit onto the national frame work for accreditation allowing students continual access to further education.

     

Sword Event Guard approved Training Programmes and Trainers have been placed on the FAS/EI National Register of Trainers. The registration number of Sword Event Guard is 902468 and the registration expiry date is 14/02/2009

Sword Event Guards instructors are also accredited to provide the Security Institute of Ireland, Door Security Procedures (DSP) course. This course is designed to provide door staff with the essential soft and hard skills to perform their job to the highest standards. The DSP is certified by the Security Institute of Ireland (SII) and is recognised by the Further Education Training and Awards Council (FETAC).

This 3 day course is recognized by the by the Private Security Authority as fulfilling the training requirements for licensing under the Private Security legislation. Sword Event Guard instructors can also deliver the basic guarding course which is accredited by the same bodies and fulfills training requirements for security guards under the Private Security Act.

Sword Event Guard are accredited with Edexcel to offer the English SIA door supervisor course, required by door staff for licensing under English Licensing regulations. This four day course comprises knowledge and skill based learning with two days of theory and two days of hands on conflict management training and scenarios. In addition Sword Event Guard and Edexcel can offer the Guarding course required under the same legislation in England for the licensing of private security guards.

Sword Event Guard are also accredited, with 1st4sport to provide the Certificate in Event and Match Day Stewarding (CEMS) training course for stewards who work at everything from concerts to football games.

 
 
 

1st4sport Qualifications is an awarding body recognised and regulated by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), created with the aim of offering vocational qualifications in areas of sport, recreation and allied occupations. They work in partnership with a variety of organisations to develop qualifications, including national governing bodies of sport.

The dynamic CEMS course is provided, over 72 hours, through a mixture of class time, projects and onsite assessments. It was developed in conjunction with, The Football Association, The Football League, The FA Premier League, The Football Safety Officers’ Association Ltd, and in consultation with The Football Licensing Authority. In addition it is a requirement for stewards working in prestigious venues such as the new Wembley Stadium.
