| Sword Security Management Team Diarmuid Smyth MSc, FIISec. CPP - Managing Director Diarmuid Smyth is the managing director of Sword. Diarmuid has many years experience in the security and crowd management industry. He holds a bachelors degree from National University Ireland and a Masters Degree in Risk, Crisis and Emergency Management from the Scarman Centre at Leicester University, as well as numerous certificates and diplomas from leading security organisations. Diarmuid is board certified in security management (CPP) from the world’s leading professional security organization – the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) and a Fellow of International Institute of Security. He has also completed courses with the United Nations Training Institute and the American Military University . Diarmuid is a regular guest lecturer
at 3rd level institutions on security topics. As a leading expert he has
appeared live on Irish National television and he is consulted by leading
media on security and crowd management issues. On an operational level
Dairmuid has acted as head of security for some of Europe’s largest
events. Eoghan Gill B.Corp Law, LLB - Business Development Manager Eoghan Gill is responsible for the strategic analysis and implementation of business strategy for the company. He is the head of the New Business Team that ensures the smooth running of all new contracts. His Operational experience spans over ten years operating at Senior Management and Directorial level managing up to 1,000 personnel at large scale events. He has worked with some of the worlds best known celebrities and dignitaries in conjunction with bodyguard teams and advanced security personnel . His business experience is combined with an academic background encompassing an MBA and two law degrees. Mark Toner B.Ed - National Training Manager Mark Toner is the Sword Event Guard International Training and Development Manager. Involved in the security industry for ten years he has worked operationally in every security sector. Very much a hands on trainer he still operates as a senior supervisor responsible for crews of up to 100 staff at large sporting and music events. In addition to holding a first class honours degree in education, he is a certified instructor with the Security Institute of Ireland. A member of the Irish Institute of Training and Development, Mark is also currently completing a Masters in Training and Development at the University of Bradford. Training and development, at all levels,
is seen as key to the continued expansion of the company and this is reflected
in the company mission statement. The courses designed and run by Sword
Event Guard International, are often unique in both content and delivery
with many externally validated. An ongoing system of review and evaluation
ensures that course content is both Ollie Walsh B.M.S, M.M.I.I - Marketing Manager Ollie is the Marketing Manager with Sword Security. He studied marketing at Athlone I.T. from 1990-94. After receiving his degree, he continued his studies and received his Masters Degree in Business (Strategic Marketing) from N.U.I.G. Before joining Sword Ollie specialised in marketing of small/niche businesses for which he was nominated for Bank of Ireland/Marketing Institute Award. Ollie also lectured in marketing at Athlone I.T. for three years.
