Sword are delighted to have been the security and stewarding provider for the Volvo Ocean Race in Galway. Galway was the finish line of the 37,000 mile extreme yacht race around the globe. The racing yachts arrived into the Port with a crowd of up to 20,000 people waiting to welcome then.

Sword are finishing 2011 with style after being shortlisted for 3 very prestigious awards including 'Event Security Team of the Year: Cardiff Transport Team' and 'ACS Champion of the Year' both from the Security Excellence Awards in London. Sword has also been honoured in Ireland with a final 3 shortlist position for Sandra Kelly of the 02 Team beingshortlisted as 'Event Security Person of the Year' by the ISIA in Dublin.

Sword Security were honored to be chosen as the stewarding provider for the visit of the 44th President of the US for his speech at College Green in Dublin in May. The Sword team worked alongside the event management team, the Gardai and the US secret service team to ensure the safety of the massive crowd which turned out to welcome President Obama.

The event which featured a host of Irish artists was attended by over 20,000 spectators and was held in the heart of Dublin.
