Event Guard are also accredited, with 1st4sport to provide the Certificate
in Event and Match Day Stewarding (CEMS) training course for stewards
who work at everything from concerts to football games.
1st4sport Qualifications is an
awarding body recognised and regulated by the Qualifications and
Curriculum Authority (QCA), created with the aim of offering vocational
qualifications in areas of sport, recreation and allied occupations.
They work in partnership with a variety of organisations to develop
qualifications, including national governing bodies of sport.
The dynamic CEMS course is provided,
over 72 hours, through a mixture of class time, projects and onsite
assessments. It was developed in conjunction with, The Football
Association, The Football League, The FA Premier League, The Football
Safety Officers’ Association Ltd, and in consultation with
The Football Licensing Authority. In addition it is a requirement
for stewards working in prestigious venues such as the new Wembley
Stadium.
